May sightings at Xigera

As the winter season continues, the Okavango Delta floods have returned once again. Most of the water that floods the Okavango Delta each year comes from the Angolan Highlands, travelling over 1,700km to reach the unique geological space we inhabit. For guests, the flowing waterways of Xigera invite discovery and unforgettable opportunities to explore the wilderness from an entirely new perspective. As the Delta ebbs and flows with the changing season, our guests can find moments to reconnect and engage spiritually with our wilderness. Explore some of the photographs which have been taken this May by our guides at Xigera. These phenomenal shots were taken at sunset by Safari Guide Oratile Gotshajwang. The first of one of the pride lion cubs and the second of an adult Lechwe. Pictures by Oratile Gotshajwang Motlalepula has returned to camp. She has not been spotted for over a year whereas her cubs are still spotted regularly. In 2020, Motlalepula gave birth to her cubs in Suite 2 whilst it was still being built. The first photograph is of giraffes crossing the famous Hamerkop Crossing and the ariel shots perfectly capture the diversity of the landscape; the third photo showcases the winding channel of the Delta, almost snake-like.
