A quiet seaside retreat
Okavango Delta, Botswana
The story of Xigera Safari Lodge is one of renewal. Of rebirth and family legacy, and of the pioneering spirit that drives us to seek out Africa’s wild spaces. The same spirit that inspired this remarkable reimagining, perhaps a complete reinvention, of an Okavango Delta safari.
This is Xigera (pronounced ‘kee-jera’), named for the Pied Kingfisher that makes its home amid the watery channels of Botswana’s Moremi Game Reserve.
Every aspect is handcrafted to beguile our guests’ senses and stir their souls – from the evocative interiors to one-of-a-kind encounters.
But Xigera is equally a line in the sand. A raising of the bar. A bold statement in the realm of luxury safaris, and an Okavango Delta safari experience like no other.
Delicious cuisine and impeccable service go hand-in-hand at The Old Government House and our experienced team will be on hand to offer the finest suggestion of wine to accompany your meal. Dine in our light and airy Brasserie Restaurant, or in the warm cosiness of The Curry Room, where you can enjoy the finest indian flavours.
In the summer, dine al fresco in The Olive Grove, while our traditional Afternoon Tea is served every day throughout the year. For the most stylish and relaxing rendezvous in Guernsey, gather friends and colleagues at The Crown Club and experience our vast array of gins.
At The Old Government House Hotel & Spa we are delighted to present an intriguing and carefully chosen wine list that offers an outstanding blend of quality and value - from the Grand Crus of Burgundy and Bordeaux, and the most prestigious marques of Champagne, to personally selected wines from less celebrated regions.
Many of the wines listed are available by the glass, including a selection from our sister wine estate, Bouchard Finlayson in South Africa. The wines are helpfully listed by style, and present a fascinating cross-section of the almost infinite variety and range of the world of wine.
